Oh dear William, looks like you didn’t claim 😒
Well done William😀
The answer to day 30 is Horseshoe Bend.
It is NOT in the Grand Canyon, its near a town called Page in Arizona which is part of the Glen Canyon
Totally, I put that as well, Horsehoe Bend.
probably was counted but never won anyway did we 🙂
These answers are getting silly now. Might as well put Japan today then.
The answer to yesterday was Horseshoe bend not grand canyon, hopefully everyone who put either will get a point
Hi Heather10. Yes, that will be accepted for either answer. Good luck, Daniel.
Beautiful mountain to see. The top is usually covered by cloud but when I saw it, it was a clear morning.😀
Gonna put todays as that specific part and not the name in the Grand Scale of things 🙂
Oh Dear…..
Its not the Grand Canyon, its the Glen Canyon
Horseshoe bend to be precise
That’s exactly what I put for my answer – Horseshoe Bend, Glen Canyon.
Yesterday’s (28th) picture is of El Castillo which is part of the Chichen Itza site so needs to be accepted as the answer
I put El Castillo for the answer on 28th. Is this one of those places with 2 names
Todays answer 29th – One of the most disappointing places I have visited
What?! I loved it! Even though I didn’t recognise it today. 😀
chichen itza is the whole site and not the actual monument name of image
I agree.
I put El Castillo as that is what it is
same here
I do admit, I had to Google this one today (28th) as I have seen it on TV programmes but never knew the name.
Same, although I had 2 different names come up for it. Hopefully the one I put is correct.
same….different name came up for me
Number 24, Louvre, I’ve been there and seriously underestimated the amount of stairs you need to take to see the painting The Mona Lisa. I had to rest half way. Totally out of breath. Finally reached the painting, only to be disappointed to no end. It was behind a glass box and it looked A4 size to me from where I was standing although it’s claimed to be 77 cm x 53 cm in size, couldn’t get any closer.
Been to the top of today’s landmark just over 6 weeks ago
Fortunate to have visited today’s answer (20th). A truly remarkable Landmark
it is a beautiful building, and a place I would like to visit.
Used to live two mile down the road from this one (19th May), never was allowed to get close enough to touch though (never did Solstice).
When I was on holiday as a child in the 60’s I played climbing and jumping on the stones. There used to be just a few posts with a rope around them
Really is the wonder of the world. Has to be seen to be believed!
Day 14 answer yesterday is INCORRECT. It’s not the Acropolis of Athens, it is actually The Ancient Erechtheion Temple on Acropolis Hill in Athens Greece.
Hi. Acropolis / Parthenon / Erechtheion are all acceptable answers. Good luck! Daniel.
so many different variations/names for some of these!!!!
I hope I got my answer marked as correct yesterday as the landmark was the Parthenon. The Parthenon is located on top of the acropolis so I’m guessing both answers are correct. Please can you let me know Daniel, thanks
I put the Parthenon as well but with Acropolis in brackets. In theory Parthenon is the correct answer
i put Erechtheion which it is also known by
so did I!
Agree.
Hi. Acropolis / Parthenon / Erechtheion are all acceptable answers. Good luck! Daniel.
This one brings back memories!
It’s a mighty windy crossing on a streetcar.
On a boat underneath also, plus looking down on it from the top of the bank.
I named the landmark not the place for yesterday, was that incorrect? (Ed Deir-The Monastery)
That’s what I put.
Same here i put The Monastery
Same. Monastery of Petra
I just put Petra. I’m thinking both answers should be correct,.like the one from yesterday which was the Parthenon but the answer is listed differently (see.my question to Daniel above)
This one is on the tip of my tongue but can’t quite remember! I prefer not to Google as it’s just a bit of fun so here’s hoping Hobbit Palace (Jordan) is correct…wish me luck folks
Nothing to do with the site (sorry!), but if anyone is reading this through the night, look for the Aurora! I can see it in Hertfordshire. You might not see it with your eyes, so look through your smartphone, and you will see the reds and greens, it’s amazing! Should get another chance on saturday if you missed it on friday.
Yes Andrew it was amazing over the Hertfordshire countryside
I missed it all as didn’t know about it until after the event, Seeing the Aurora is on my bucket list.
I hope that its just the.landmark.that we need to have been putting and not the place as well
just landmark
Asked & answered a week ago, just scroll down a bit 😁😉
Oops…spelled yesterdays wrong. Never mind, I still get a point.
I don’t think spelling matters on the picture rounds (or it didn’t used to!)
Fairly easy so far, tho I think some are taking the landmark naming bit too seriously with what to put as the answers.. don’t need to be so precise. Most will know the first 4, very straightforward. Just a game after all. Enjoy everyone.
I agree. No need to get upset if the answer is slightly different from what you put. You’ll still get 2 entries, and even if you get it totally wrong you still get 1 entry into the draw. I once won this draw while I did not have every question right in that month.
Do we need to put the country as well as the landmark?
I don’t think so, it just says to “name the landmark”.
i’m just putting the name of the landmark
Hi Elaine. There is no need to, but you can if you want. It doesn’t make any difference though. Good luck! Daniel
Ah, a few years ago I had a lovely day in the place where today’s landmark is – thoroughly recommend it!
NOT big Ben, that is the bell. The building you showed was the Elizabeth Tower and any one who stated that should get the 2 entries
Completely agree Jan – I put Elizabeth Tower
Definitely Elizabeth Tower, that’s what I put too.
The Clock Tower was renamed the Elizabeth Tower to honour HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012. Therefore either answer will be accepted.
Before the rename it was St Stephen’s Clock Tower. As jan correctly stated – Big Ben is the bell, it is not the name of the tower
hi all welcome to Jan’s Pedant Club
Good luck for May everyone.
I can see comments about this one coming tomorrow…
Yeah, not clear whether they want the correct name or the most used, but incorrect, name
I only know one name for this..
Well done Adrian
Hopefully you claim in time.
Good luck for May folks.
Congratulations to Adrian, last months winner. Hope you remember to claim. New game could be interesting 🙂 Good luck to all.
Hurry Adrian! 🙂 Time is running out to claim.
