October 2024 – Culinary Conquest – Win £10

Welcome to Culinary Conquest, the ultimate test of your culinary anagram-solving skills! Every day, we present you with a tantalizing puzzle where the letters of a food item are scrambled. Your mission? Unscramble the letters to reveal the delicious answer, with the anagrams alternating between sweet and savoury temptations.

Simply type your guess into the text box below, and let the taste bud-teasing challenge begin. Will you conquer the daily anagram and uncover the culinary secrets hidden within?

If you manage to find the answer that we are looking for you will receive 2 entries into the draw. If you get it wrong you will receive 1 entry (just for giving it a try). All entries will be pooled at the end of the month, and one winner drawn at random.

The competition started on 1st October 2024 and runs until the end of the month. The last question will be shown on 31st October 2024, with the winner being announced here on 1st November 2024. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If you don’t claim your prize by 11am on 2nd November 2024 you will unfortunately lose out. No late claims accepted.

In French it’s not missing, that’s where they originate.

You can’t have ever had a nice one then because they are the best, in my opinion. 🙂

I could see them by eye this time, but there were more colours in May. Not complaining though, they are stunning whatever colour they are!

I missed them again! From the news and online they’re beautiful but best seen through the lens of a camera is that right?

Wendy

Yes Susan, with the naked eye i was seeing just red, but thru my camera lens it was showing red, pink, blue and greens. Beautiful.

I asked my husband what he thought today’s was, and he came up with SCOAT. I have no idea where his head is or what a Scoat is. Do you have any ideas?

My favourite dessert today

I had to use a anagran solver today. Here in the US I never heard of the #9 quiz dessert. Is it good and what’s it taste like?

Dawn
Member
Dawn

A bit like banana creme pie but slimier with toffee in it.

Alison
Member
Alison

As a Brit I assumed it was a US dessert, given the fact that they have a large range in this category and we often use it for savory, but no, apparently it was most likely invented in East Sussex, so yes, a British dessert.

You learn something new everyday.

I was unable to log on this site yesterday for the number 7 so I have put on today’s number 8 and this was no fault on my behalf I had been mysteriously blocked by this site how bizarre.

So far I’ve got them all right, pretty straightforward, I wouldn’t say they’ve been difficult so far. I think a few on here look for reactions in their comments, you can tell with the way they word things. 🤔

omg how thick am I, got home from work and showed hubby said what do you think this is? strawberry lifter etc, and then said to him all the others have been anagrams and it was at that point I realised (crying face)

Alison

I have got all the others straight away, this one took me a bit longer, I don’t mean to make you feel bad when I say it was only 10 seconds longer, but it has been the most difficult. 😊

It’s not a great picture. Maybe if it showed a layer of custard and some cream on top it would help.

Yes, today’s looks like a cake but it’s not.

Technically, that picture is of Farfalle pasta, but it’s all the same in the end 😉. I am enjoying this month’s puzzles, nice and easy xx

my husband came up with Race Mice for today’s clue lol

Alison

In his defence, it is a better use of the letters than when he guessed Kedgeree, but I won’t be trying any Race Mice for dinner. 😆

Every answer is wrong with him as he is not trying to answer them, he is just being funny, to make me laugh.
