August 2024 – Olympic Sports Showdown – Win £10
Get ready to take your shot at the Olympic Sports Showdown – Paris 2024 Edition! To celebrate the Paris 2024 Olympics, each day this month you’ll be in the competitive lane, trying to identify one of the sport categories that are being played over the course of the Olympics. To give you a head start we are only looking for the sport category, not the specific sport. It’s time to show off your game and score big. With 31 days of daily challenges, this is your chance to bring your A-game. Lace up, dive in, and see if you can clinch the title in this ultimate Olympic Sports Showdown!
Guess right, and you’ll earn 2 entries into our monthly draw. Even if you’re unsure, taking a stab at it still gets you 1 entry – it’s all about the fun and the chance to win! At the end of the month, we’ll randomly select one lucky participant from the pooled entries to receive an exciting prize.
The competition started on 1st August 2024 and runs until the end of the month. The last question will be shown on 31st August 2024, with the winner being announced here on 1st September 2024. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If you don’t claim your prize by 11am on 2nd September 2024 you will unfortunately lose out. No late claims accepted.
Well done Frances !
Well done Frances hope you claim your winnings in time. Good to all for September’s Game. 👍
Congratulations Frances, hope you claim in time 😁👍
Congratulations Frances!
Congratulations Frances! Hope you claim!
I sense another controversial answer today 😁😂🤣😒
I was correct. Not rowing in a million years. Paddles in picture not oars used in rowing and the people holding them have their hands far too close to the ends.
Good Luck everyone for tomorrow 🤞🤞
Good luck to you too
There are a lot of things that started off years ago as a bit of fun being turned in to a sport, now these things are taken seriously and the competitors must need to do a lot of training to compete like they do. They are also sponcered now, in skateboarding, breakdancing, and beach volleyball just like mountain bike riding. Darts has always been classed as a sport like snooker, they have been a sport for as long as I can remember.
I didn’t realise Beach soccer was an olympic sport 😁😉
Yep it sure is
it’s not, beach volleyball is
James Bond today 🤣😂😁
🤣🤣
Triathlon? There were only two pictures, so I put – which is an Olympic sport – Biathlon.
Anyone else?
There were 3 pics, the cycling on the background then the 2.smaller pictures of someone running and someone just out of a swim
I didn’t see the cycling. Last week when the background showed lanes swimming, the answer was Diving. It’s difficult to know what is relevant in this month’s pictures. Roll on September.
I saw 3 pictures for this sport
Break dancing could never be classed as a sport. Even things that are shown on sports channels shouldn’t be classed as a sport. I would never class darts as a sport either. Whoever said break dancing should be in the Olympics needs their head testing.
For me it’s along the same line as the skateboarding
If London ever gets the games again. I’d like to see cheese rolling, bog snorkelling, welly wanging and conkers introduced.
Thursday’s ‘sport’ should never even have been in the olympics. I don’t think it’s a sport at all. what’s next? Rope jumping?
I put parkour lol. I’m assuming that’s not an olympic sports either but I’d never have guessed that it was break dancing!
I actually watched some of it, must be a new thing but it’s definitely a thing now!
Break Dancing has been around a long time, never expected it to be in Olympics
Stamp Collecting
I agree, Hilde. Who on earth could class that as a ‘sport’?
Already been dropped as an Olympic “sport”.
Good!
Climbing today 🤣😂😉
That’s definitely a wall in the background 😉
PMSL. My husbands comment was “people making a fool of themselves”, but when I told him what I thought is was, he said “is what their calling an olympic sport now”.
Squash has never been in the Olympics this year, or any year,. although I put badminton after Google lensing it
Squash wasn’t in the Olympics, racquetball was, so why is the answer squash?
I had the same thought so I asked around – seems it never has been as you say BUT it will be in 2028 so counted enough to be included it seems.
racquetball wasn’t
I’ve never heard of racketball in my life (as a foreigner). I put squash since I saw the wooden floor.
Squash was not in the Olympics this year, get your act together Daniel 🙂
I put racquetball for yesterday’s answer will it be counted as right or wrong I wonder.
What looks like what I think it is today, isn’t an Olympic sport yet
So put down tennis and then see we’ve already had that lol, Be glad when this one finishes
It is not tennis as they don’t play on a wooden floor.
Squash was not in the olympics this year
