Congratulations and Well done Wendy!
Hope you claim in time!
Thank you. I have pressed the claim button 😁
Ooohh thought it was me then but not my DOB. Well done Wendy
Thank you 😁
I have no idea of this one lol.
Think Scrooge!
Happy New Year to all🍾
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and good luck with the draw and the New Year Competition.
Alternative answer to yesterday’s clue; Feather Christmas.
Very good 😁 think I prefer this answer in fact, more logical!
That’s what I thought.
I seem to have missed quite a few this month 😣 (also needing to catching up on the comments before the next one starts – hence the slight barrage of replies & posts, sorry! 😏), particularly the food ones for some strange reason – but now having seen all the comments about the ‘turkey’ (+🍊🍊⁉️), the ‘roast’ potatoes & then the rosemary garnishing the Christmas pudding 🤯😆, I went back up and looked at the clue pictures… …& couldn’t agree more with everything said! Daniel, hope you don’t mind me asking, but is this your usual Xmas dinner..?!? Ooo, you… Read more »
I put Santa Claws for 27, doh 🤦🏻♀️ wonder if it might be allowed 2 points though…after all, dogs do have both! Mine just doesn’t sound quite as friendly 🐶🐾❣️
I couldn’t think of a thing for the first one (hmmm, where’s a dunce emoji when you need one? 🤔🤪🤭) – so I just put:
“I don’t know… what kind of pictures DO elves take?”.
Ok, so i can’t imagine I’ll get two points for that one lol – I do still think it’s *technically* the correct answer though; especially if it’s a child reading the clue, don’t spoil it! 😜
Though perhaps it’s Bob reading it lol – in that case, I have no idea what age he is; hard to tell with 🐧s anyway, but especially the cartoon type! 🤣
Yes, I did get yesterday’s wrong. It was a tossup between Brighton and Plymouth for my answer. I wonder how many got it right lol.
My first thought 🤔was Tobamory but decided to plump for Venice, I knew I would still get a point just for guessing🙂
My first thought was Bergen, then I moved to Vienna and Amsterdam but final inspiration was Copenhagen and I found a photo on Google that was very similar so Copenhagen it was!
Copenhagen for me too
Blimey, you all seem ever so well-travelled/knowledgeable! 👏👍
Sadly, I can’t say the same 🙁 I didn’t even attempt to look this one up, just saw a canal & put Venice! Who knew it resembled so many other places (inc. the correct one!)? 🤷🏻♀️
Well actually, most of you it seems lol – just not me 🤦🏻♀️😣🤣
I thought it was familiar from what I’ve seen of the place in the past.. so I put Venice. I had a feeling I get it wrong, I did duckduckgo Images and found an image very very similar so I went Venice. Hope everyone had a pleasant Christmas Day whether you celebrate it or not. And i’am enjoying this game. 👍
Hope you all had a good one, or at least not a bad one. Relaxing today. Did most of the washing up and tidying up yesterday; the rest can wait!
I’ve made up an answer to the riddle, it will be interesting to see what the right answer is!
HAPPY CHRISTMAS CUSTOMERS AND SITE OWNERS – sorry a bit late, time escaped me – I hope I can wish you all the BEST for 2025 in a timely fashion though!!
Best of luck to you all in the next year!!
XxXxX
Is anyone else struggling with today’s question I am stumped. Merry Christmas to all on here.
Merry Christmas everyone
It took me a while to remember that there’s at least one more option for the first. After ‘You’ and ‘My Two Front Teeth’, there is of course ‘A Dukla Prague Away Kit’.
Anyway, Merry Christmas to you all. I hope your gifts are as happily given as they are received, your turkeys aren’t dry and the batteries all came included.
If Christmas isn’t your bag, then I wish you the happiest nearest equivalent.
Here’s to a happy new year!
“I hope your gifts are as happily given as they are received, your turkeys aren’t dry and the batteries all came included” – love this 😂 think I might borrow it for next year (or late Xmas cards this year!), hope you don’t mind 😉
I’m far too late for 🎄 (or others) but wish you & everyone else here a 😃 🆕 🌍🌎🌏 (←year?!) too 🥳🤩☺️
You’re welcome to the words, they’re for sharing! Happy new year to you, too.
Merry Christmas Folks
Merry Christmas to Daniel and all the regulars that make this site a happy and friendly place to visit every day. Good luck for a prosperous new year!
Late today, but have a Merry Christmas and great New Year everybody!
Happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year to all on here
Same to you 😁👍🎄
Merry Christmas everybody
Same to you😁👍🎄
Thank you x Hope you had a good day
With rosemary???
Do you not have yours with Rosemary 🤣😂
If it is what I think it is, rosemary does look out of place.
Yes is does, I only have cream and custard with mine
That’s odd, I had replied to this post but it seems to have now disappeared… 🤔
There was nothing I can possibly imagine would be controversial in it lol, so it seems unlikely it was deliberately removed 😆 but for some strange reason it’s just vanished! Bit weird
I went from all the Merry Christmas wishes to “with rosemary”, all I can say to you Pat is you are a wonderful person to ensure Rosemary was not alone this Christmas. 🤣
One of my best films to watch today 22/12.
We watched this (again) last night. It’s one that we watch every Christmas, along with Elf and The Grinch.
Same here, will watch this tomorrow, love it 🚂
I put chicken as didn’t look like a turkey. And the answer is turkey. I’ve never seen many turkeys that look like that in size.
It had oranges around it and looked like a chicken so I put duck a l’orange.
which bird will it be? 🙂
i guess the ‘traditional’ festive one?!…
It looks a bit small to be the festive one, but the other isn’t festive, could it be the one Scrooge sent for? It’s too small for that too, I think.
Decisions, decisions.
Why would it be the traditional festive one if it’s clearly a well known dish. The ingredients are in the name.
I nearly put in chicken, it didn’t look very big!
I Google lens it because of that very reason and it’s the other one not the traditional one as found an image the same, however I think both answers should be accepted
I put both as it didn’t look as big as the festive one. Also I put roast before it too. Hopefully it will be acceptable.
I also put roast chicken and looked nothing like turkey.
If today’s food item is what I think it is, I’ll give it a miss. I love them but those look rank.
I put potatoes because I was stumped, I couldn’t think of anything else but they didn’t look like any potatoes that I’ve ever eaten.
They looked much too small and I like them a bit burnt and crispy.
I put roast potatoes in their jackets because they were, basically, new potatoes that had been cut in half and roasted with a bit of parsley sprinkled on top. Certainly not what most of us would serve as roast potatoes 🤣
I just put potatoes as they did not look like any roasties I have ever seen.
Me neither, they looked like boiled potatoes with butter melted on them and herbs sprinkled on them.
Yes I like mine crispy and a bit black, I love them roasted with a joint of beef as the flavour is just so nice.
Who’s Bob?
I think it’s the penguin 🐧 😆
Wally’s brother
Bob is the name of the Penguin
Yesterday’s clue said to name the festive food game. There’s a game called mince spies, so I put that. I know it showed mince pies but because it said game, I put the name of the game.
Can the clues be a bit more clearer or just have a picture so we know exactly what is being asked.
Don’t know if anyone else has put the name of the game?
I can understand why you were confused but ‘The festive food game’ is only the title of this particular quiz within a quiz – where the answer is a type of food. So Pigs in Blankets on 3 December was also called ‘The festive food game’ but days 1 and 6 were called ‘finish the song lyric’ and day 2 was ‘name the movie’. At least you get one point for an incorrect answer
Thanks. I know to go with the food now and not to look too deeply into the clue.
Got mine this evening didn’t get it for two days had to use old link from the day before
Hope everyone in a Red Weather Warning area keeps safe. Please Make sure you have candles, flashlights, & mobile phones are all fully charged, just in case the power goes off! If you need to report a power cut, do not call your energy supplier, instead call 105. Plus if you need a little extra help call your energy supplier and ask to be added to the The Priority Services Register (PSR).
(Its also a good idea to have a corded landland on hand too. But no idea how many people have these anymore! Haha)
Great advice Troye, we have a corded land line 😁 we have made sure our elderly relatives have them too, you can pick them up quite cheaply these days. Head torches are a great thing to have as well, sort out spare batteries just in case, tie down garden objects or put them away and most importantly if you have small pets, ensure you have a carrier to hand so you can evacuate them quickly, if pets live outside make sure their home is secure and warm. We are not in a red warning, but are always ready if things… Read more »
Hi All. It appears that Microsoft e-mail users are not receiving the daily newsletters. I’m not sure how easy it is going to be to get this sorted but I’ve made contact with Microsoft to hopefully get it resolved on their end. Please let me know if you start receiving them. This affects the likes of hotmail.com, outlook.com, live.com and several other e-mail addresses. In the meantime please set yourself a reminder to check each day so that you don’t miss out! All the best, Daniel.
I just got the daily email reminder late this afternoon for the first time this week, so it’s working again. I use Outlook and I actually wondered if it might’ve been a problem with Microsoft email sites.
Wouldn’t describe it as a High Street Brand 🤔🤔
I agree. I thought high street brand was the name of a business like a shop, not a product.
Hi Stuart. That was referring to brands that you are likely to find in shops on the high street. All the best, Daniel.
Thanks Daniel,
I’m not getting my daily reminder email either! Anyone else not receiving?
Last one received was Sunday 1st December.
I don’t think I’ve had one today and seeing as I missed yesterday probably didn’t get one then (they remind me to check so when I don’t get I forget)
Hi Heather10. Please can you check your junk folder and make sure they are not arriving there? Thanks, Daniel.
Hi Stuart. They have definitely been going out. I assume you have checked your junk folder and it hasn’t landed in there? Thanks, Daniel.
Hi, I also haven’t had one since Monday. I checked my junk Mail but it’s not there either.
I don’t delete the email until a new one comes through the next day so that the link is there, though I haven’t had a problem with the emails coming through daily.
@ Jackie I do the exact same thing.
Still haven’t had one this week since Sunday the 1st
I do the same thing with mine, but I usually receive my reminders. I’m sorry to those who don’t get them.
I’ve not had an email all week either.
I think i put Tesco (aka just pick a high street brand), and today i put Paris (aka pick a place someone could visit for the festive season). Looking forward to when we are getting anagram back again, lol. This month I’ve accepted i won’t get 2 entries, but only 1 per day. I’m cool with it, it does not cost me anything to check 🙂
Can we help by putting some descriptive texts in the comments?
At my age, the only ending to All I want for Christmas is – my two front teeth (which tempted a few other people I see below). There have been several famous singers and one version has even been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. As you only asked us to finish the lyric, will you accept both answers, Daniel?
I had not thought of that one and have not classed myself as a young, whippersnapper in quite a while.
Thanks Aileen for the best Christmas present you could have given me. 🤣
You’re more than welcome, young Alison 😉
Hi Aileen. A very small number of people did put that and after looking it up it is indeed a Christmas song (I’d never heard of it myself). I will accept it as a correct answer. Good Luck! Daniel
Thanks, Daniel. It’s definitely an age thing, which is quite appropriate to Free Birthday Lottery 🤣
It was certainly the first answer that came into my mind, and I’m 37 – does that put me square in the elderly category, too?
I was only just getting to grips with the fact that I’m no longer young!! 😯😭
🤣😉
Hi, Sally. 37 is definitely still young. After all, late middle age doesn’t start till 50 and elderly at 70 or possibly even 80 😉. The fact that your first thought was ‘my two front teeth’ was probably your parents or grandparents singing it to you as a child. After all, the very first version was released in 1948 and I wasn’t born then either. The biggest debate I had was whether it was ‘my’ or ‘me’ – never even considered ‘you’ 🤣🤣
I am 56 but still, consider myself young my husband who is 67 thinks he is old and disagrees with him.
Well done to Barbara. Hope you claim. The car logos was good, I recognised most of them and for a cyclist i did good. got stuck on a few, but I got them all eventually. Good luck to everyone for December’s fun game. 👍
Sorry to be a pain, but is it possible to put the song words above the image like we had with the anagrams one? It helps me so so much!!! (sorry!)
Hi Troye. That is OK. It is going to be a different type of game each day. Many of them are based on images rather than text. How do you normally deal with image based games? I’ll try and see what I can do. Thanks, Daniel.
Hi Troye. I’ve just made some changes to today’s game. Please can you check and let me know if this works better for you. I’ve added alt text to the image which should work if you are using a screen reader. Thanks, Daniel.
Congratulations Barbara I hope you claim. Good luck to everyone for this month’s fun competition.
Well done Barbara on winning November’s car logo quiz, hope you claim in time. Good luck everyone for December’s Christmas treats 🙃
Many congratulations to Barbara.
Best of luck to everyone for December.
Two potential answers – I’m putting both in!
Of the dental variety? I too was tempted but resisted!
Me too 🤣😂
Twins lol
What is the other answer?
You and My two front teeth were the two possible answers
