Face of Time – Name The Historical Figure – Win £10
Each day an image of a historical figure will be unveiled, challenging your knowledge of the past. Your task is to identify the personality depicted in the image and choose the correct answer from the choices given.
Immerse yourself in a diverse array of historical epochs, from influential leaders to groundbreaking innovators. Whether it’s a renowned philosopher, a charismatic political figure, or a trailblazing inventor, every day brings a new opportunity to showcase your historical expertise.
If you manage to find the answer that we are looking for, you will receive 2 entries into the draw. If you get it wrong, you will receive 1 entry (just for giving it a try). All entries will be pooled at the end of the month, and one winner drawn at random.
The competition started on 1st February 2025 and runs until the end of the month. The last question will be shown on 28th February 2025, with the winner being announced here on 1st March 2025. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If you don’t claim your prize by 11am on 2nd March 2025 you will unfortunately lose out. No late claims accepted.
Thank you for picking me 😊 I really enjoyed February’s competition
Hi Sarah. Congratulations! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the game. Hopefully you will enjoy the new game we launched yesterday. Enjoy your winnings too! All the best, Daniel.
Congratulations Sarah, hope you claim 😁👍
I thought I had won then
Right name
6 days, 2 months and 2 years out lol
Always next month Sarah 😃
I showed my husband today’s photo 27th Feb, and he looked at it and immediately said James Dean, lol. He said it’s a little-known fact about him, lol. He has a great sense of humour and always makes me laugh. He has said a few funny names in some of the photos I have shown him.
I am enjoying this month’s competition. It is great to know who some people were in the questions, and if I am unsure, I look them up or ask my husband.
I asked my husband last week, he told me so I started copying the answer to paste it in the box, but he thought i was copying it to check on Google whether he was right and he got really offended.
It’s gone down in my “Ways to annoy hubby” book for those days when he is insufferable and I want to mess with his head. After all these years It wonderful that we can still find new things for us to do together.
I know what you mean lol. We listen to talking books together, and some have been very strange but enjoyable and some funny.
He doesn’t even look like a turtle though.
I’ve found that today’s (12th) has been the hardest one so far, not a clue, so I did have to search.
I can usually only tell those four apart by the colour of their bandana.
I thought the answer to today’s one was “Milk Snatcher” 😡 IYKYK
I am in no way a fan, but I have never heard of any child even drinking a glass of milk in England since it was taken away, let alone having one daily.
I bet the cows became fans.
Just because the school doesn’t provide free milk, there’s nothing to stop the parents giving it to their children. Sorry, but if children aren’t drinking milk these days, it’s down to poor parenting
Exactly, parents never thought to provide it themselves, so it obviously wasn’t as important as they made it out to be at the time.
Drinking lactating fluids after infancy is not a necessity.
As children, we always had milk, both in school and at home. The school always put it in front of the radiator, so it was always warm. I cannot drink milk warm; it has to be cold or hot, with either drinking chocolate or sugar in it.
I came to the comments to ask if anyone remembered that saying ? Lol.
I claimed the win, but nothing arrived yet?
Hi David. Congratulations again on your win! This has been paid via Paypal as requested. Please can you check as the funds should have arrived with you now. Thanks again, Daniel.
I hated history as a kid, it was so boring, but I am recognising all these pics so far. Although I think we are being lowered in gently, soon we will be taking a drive or belly flop into “who the hell is that” territory! 🤪
I meant to say dive, but the belly flop is more my style anyway. 😳
Me too lol
Same here.
Must of missed yesterdays as couldn’t of had email reminder as William Shakespeare has appeared today so put him in with today’s answer 😀
You’re right, there was no email reminder yesterday.
I didn’t get the reminder yesterday either. It must have been a glitch.
It has now been updated to today’s 4th question @18.48
Don’t rely on the email reminders. Just bookmark this page and visit it every day. New one comes at 11:00
Or there’s the easier method I use – I have a browser extension that opens the site that day then after I vote I set it for the next visit and so on. Plenty of browser extensions that can do that it looks like.
Hoping Daniel will just accept the letters rather than the full titles. As I just put the letter for yesterday’s answer
He answered in reply to another person that just the letter is fine, unless you prefer to type the name out 🙂 hope that helps (though actually his post is two hours older than yours – just goes to show, it’s alwaysa good idea to look at previous comments before askinga question! You’ll often find others wondered the same thing 😉)
Thanks Sally and Daniel.
I did check further down but must have had baby brain moment and missed it 🤔🤦♀️
You can just copy and paste the name into the answer space. That’s what I did
For the first 3, I put Bert, Winnie & Bill 😂😂😂
Well done to David and good luck to all for February’s fun game. 👌
How do you want the answer written? Just the letter, both letter and name or just name?
Good question – I copied and pasted from the text choices above the picture.
I just put the letter.
Hi Steven. Any is fine. Just the letter is OK, but feel free to type out the answer if you wish. Good Luck! Daniel
While last month I just had to type anything (mostly New York and Home Alone) as there was no text to read. At least this month I have a 1 in 4 chance of getting the right one, just by chance. This is an improvement, thank you, David! 🙂
Or Daniel? I forget, sorry! haha
Congrats to David, winner of January’s offering. Hope you claim in time and enjoy 😉 Goid luck to all for this months ‘Historical Figure’ 😁
Thank you! 😁
Congratulations to David on winning last months competition.
Good luck to everyone for February…
I think I’m going to enjoy this month’s competition 🙂👍
Me too….
I am hopeless at remembering peoples names, so I am grateful for the multiple choice!
