Well said and well investigated Aileen, wonder if someone’s bumped off “Guest” as hasn’t made an appearance for several days now! We can but hope!
I kind of wish (s)he’s still around so (s)he can see (s)he’s wrong! But probably best to disappear!!
No update for today as yet? (11.27 am)
Apologies. This issue was corrected shortly after 11:30am. Good Luck, Daniel, Free Birthdate Lottery.
hi, question hasn’t updated today.
Apologies. This issue was corrected shortly after 11:30am. Good Luck, Daniel, Free Birthdate Lottery.
Regarding the great saltire dispute, I would say that Jamaica has A [my emphasis] saltire but Scotland has THE [my emphasis] Saltire (try googling it in inverted commas). Therefore, Daniel was more than generous to accept Jamaica. By the way, I only googled it in inverted commas out of curiosity because I was certain in my own mind that only Scotland is THE Saltire. I agree with Christine how patient Daniel has been.
Hi Daniel, Thank you, not being a “Gamer” had no idea of the answer, but appreciate you allowing Super Mario as well as Tetris.
Puzzled by answer to Nintendo Game Boy question, (Hope I don’t sound like the dreaded Guest) because I looked for ages trying to get the answer as I didn’t know it, but on more than one site the answer was given as Super Mario Land, with Tetris included in the bundle?
Hi Christine. I honestly didn’t think Super Mario Land had come with the original Game Boy but having looked this up a few places did say that it does – so I am happy to stand corrected. I’ve now updated the answer for this and if you have put Super Mario Land (or of course Tetris) your answer will be marked as correct. Good Luck, Daniel. Free Birthdate Lottery.
Why do you hide behind the anonymous “Guest” ? If you’re so sure of your facts become a member and let other members see exactly who is placing these comments. Although I don’t think I could cope with any more of your patronising comments and also can’t believe how patient Daniel has been and how politely he replied to you! At least he has retained his dignity! So angry I’m having to watch my language!!!
Obviously some troll who has nothing else to do, Daniel has remained the bigger person responding to this idiots comments, who has not.really got a comeback as he/she hasn’t logged in, obviously ashamed as play as guest
There could be two answers for today’s question, as it was sold as a stand alone item or as a bundle with either one of the two games, i cant mention yet.
Hi Chris I agree you obviously saw the same Google response as I did. To be honest my first thought was one of the answers but just confirmed
Back in the day, my gameboy came with tetris but i was sure a friends came with super mario land, so had to double check.
I bought one. It was definitely Super Mario world which is what I put as the answer
Me too Stuart!
Hi Chris.
Wasn’t sure myself, i know my came with Tetris but was sure a friends came with Super mario land, so had to check to make sure.
“The Saltire is which country’s flag?” Depends on the colours involved and/or on the definition of “country” (i.e. does it mean an independent nation which is a member of the United Nations in its own right?)
There’s only one answer fam.
Ever seen the flag of Jamaica?
STILL no acknowledgement of your error, in declaring that there is only ONE answer when you have been advised of another – Jamaica has a saltire flag.
Hi Guest. I have NOT stated that there is only one answer. I have stated above the Jamaican flag includes the saltire (or St Andrew’s Cross), but the flag isn’t referred to as ‘The Saltire’ – as far as I am aware. As the only person who has submitted ‘Jamaica’ as the answer I will give you the extra point for a correct answer with the flag including it. Good Luck, Daniel, Free Birthdate Lottery.
Interesting that you choose to approve comments which support your view (however erroneous), but block any which demonstrate – and correct – your error.
Hi, Comments don’t normally need approval but as you were not logged into an account you are showing as a ‘Guest’. As such, comments need to be approved to avoid spam. All genuine comments are normally approved – as have all 7 of yours, Daniel – Free Birthdate Lottery
Hi Daniel. I am allowing ‘Jamaica’ for this individual as the flag does include the saltire, although it isn’t referred to as ‘The Saltire’. Good Luck, Daniel, Free Birthdate Lottery
What are you talking about? You make no sense whatsoever. There is, as Daniel says, only one answer.
Never heard of Jamaica?
Oh, bore off!
So a bore (for you) is someone who knows something you don’t – e.g. the fact that Jamaica has a saltire flag?
So EIGHT people (all of the downvoters) wouldn’t recognise the flag of Jamaica?
Hi Guest. The Jamaican flag includes the saltire (or St Andrew’s Cross), but the flag isn’t referred to as ‘The Saltire’ – as far as I am aware. As the only person who has submitted ‘Jamaica’ as the answer I will give you the extra point for a correct answer with the flag including it. Good Luck, Daniel, Free Birthdate Lottery.
Okay, some of these questions are a little obscure. It’s not like we are going to know the answers without looking them up.
Oh dear, today for me it had to be a google search. I have never heard of this book.
Has the cold war really ended?
looks like putin n trump have restarted it
1991 according to the internet!
There’s 2 answers to this question – 1989 and 1991 – bit sneaky really.
There is conflicting information with regards to the dates with some sources stating 1989 and others stating 1991. Therefore answers in this range will be accepted. Apologies for any confusion!
Thank you. It was a bit confusing trying to pick the right one.
Hope I get a entry for putting ‘Sir’ infront of Elton John
Bodega Bay, choice location for most film genres.
well for today’s question Wikipedia suggests a number of horror films have been filmed there!!
I think I misread yesterdays question as what is a male animal called. All I could think is that male cats are called Tom cats so Tom must be the answer lol
I thought the same – that it was Tomcat, I’ve never heard of a turkey being called a Tom.
Me too, didn’t think about the Jake bit I was just pleased to think I got it right. Or not lol.
I put cat too
Haha I put “Hoote-nanny” for Scotland’s New Year’s Eve. I think perhaps that it’s just a Jools Holland thing.
seems there could be a few answers for this question???
Hi hornetcarp. I can only think of one that can be called both a ‘Tom’ or ‘Jake’, but if there are any others these will be accepted! Good Luck, Daniel.
thanks
Yeh I was almost tricked by the question.
Question hasn’t changed again.
Perhaps Daniel you should read the first line of text about the comp, did we have a quiz on October (copy and paste error I think).
A very unkind/snide comment – I suppose you have never made a mistake (!?!) – and you could at least have been constructive, such as by suggesting that the text be amended to reference “this month” (which could thereafter be copied and pasted and still remain accurate).
