January 2022 – Quiz – Win £10
This month we are having a quiz. Each day in June a different question will be displayed below. You just need to answer the question. If you manage to answer a question correctly you will receive 2 entries into the draw. If you manage to guess the answer correctly you will receive 2 entries into the draw. If you get it wrong you will receive 1 entry (just for giving it a try). All entries will be pooled at the end of the month and one winner drawn at random.
The competition started on 1st January 2022 and runs until the end of the month. The last question will be shown on 31st January 2022, with the winner being announced here on 1st February 2022. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If you don’t claim your prize by 11am on 2nd February you will unfortunately lose out. No late claims accepted.
Congratulations Lisa 👍😁
Congrats Lisa.
Please claim!!!!
Oh dear Lisa!! 😮
Congratulations Lisa
Hi Daniel
Yesterday I kept trying to enter the answer but every time I refreshed the page the green form submitted button kept showing. So I didn’t get to answer even though I knew it. Today the same thing happened all day. Then I shut the page and typed the website address again and logged in. Then it allowed me to type an answer. So I missed yesterday’s through no fault of mine.
Thats a tech issue with your device, no one else had the issue, so thats not Daniels fault. I dont think you will get points for that one, unfortunately you missed out. But you could still win with the points you already have. Good luck and its unfortunate it hapoened to you.
Hi Khadija. Thanks for your message. There is no site wide issue so I can only assume the issue is something related to your device. Has it been working since or are you still having issues? Thanks, Daniel.
I put soccer instead of football as I used the English instead of American..
Hi Hilde, Yes, that is correct also – just another name for the same answer. All the best, Daniel.
Thank you Daniel
So in the UK is soccer always referred to as football? Or are both terms commonly used interchangeably? Thanks.
As far as I know, the most common term in the UK is football (Football Association, Football World Cup, football fans etc) but everyone is aware that it is also known as soccer. In the USA, it is called soccer to distinguish it from American Football.
True. As a foreigner in the UK and English not my first language I looked it up to see if it’s soccer or football. Wikipedia said soccer so that is what I put.
Hi Bernie, in the UK it is Football
Thanks for clarifying Wendy. Was a bit confused.
Thanks everyone for answer.
Pretty sure he thinks we were born yesterday…
Interesting answer for yesterday. Always though the Bible was free
Exactly that’s why I didn’t put it 🤔
Depending on how you look at it, there were at least three different answers. Think the bibles classed as best selling as the places that give it out for free probably have to buy them 🤷♂️
The Bible is not free. Go to any book shop and see if you can get the Bible for free.
What is the right answer to the question What’s the best selling book of all time ?
Hi katie, The correct answer will be announced tomorrow. Good Luck, Daniel.
Surely Mercury is hotter than Venus?
You would think so as its the closest to the sun, but no its Venus 😁
Nope and dont call me Shirley!
Its surface temperature is hotter than Mercury due to its cloud cover.
It’s actually *Sir* Arthur Conan Doyle
That’s what I put as well
Me too, if they have been given a title i use it.
So did I.
Just plain Arthur Conan Doyle at the time he created Sherlock Holmes though.
Yes. Just like you are Andrew when you where born, but I’m sure if you became a Dr or a Sir you would be proud of the title given to you!
i put coke for yesterday
So did I. Hope it’s accepted.
I think Daniel will allow it.
Hi. Yes, that isn’t a problem. That is just another name for it – Both are accepted. Good Luck! Daniel
me too
No email yesterday
There’s no need for an email. Bookmark sites that you wish to visit daily, put them in a separate folder then work your way through them each day.
I remember signing up to an email subscription. No need to lecture people how to bookmark a website.
Aileen was not lecturing you. She was trying to help you. Maybe be a bit nice to someone who takes the trouble to help you in the future. If you rely on the emails for a reminder, can you set a reminder to visit the site in another way maybe?
I know how to bookmark websites. Nobody needs to go into all the trouble for that. It might not be a sympathy winner but I literally made the comment ‘no email yesterday’. I think it’s nice to let this page know. Maybe I just should have left it altogether.
Amazing the comment ‘no email yesterday’ gets voted down. Lol.
Sorry, David. Maybe you were just unfortunate to be one in a long line of complaints ‘no email’. However, it really is no trouble to bookmark, particularly if you visit a lot of competition and lottery websites, so why bother relying on email reminders? I don’t know if it’s true but one free lottery website once commented that it costs them to send out email reminders so since then I’ve made a point of not signing up for emails. I’m very grateful to these sites for taking the trouble to provide the service so anything I can do to maximise… Read more »
I didn’t complain. I was just letting know I hadn’t received the email. It is the simplest thing to do to let the page know something went wrong. I never complained. I hope the matter is now settled and we’re good! X
Thanks, Hilde. I get so cross about the constant complaints re no email when it’s so easy to fix! And I don’t think Daniel should be getting it in the neck either 🤔
For people like me that do loads of these competitions and lotteries every day, it really helps to have a reminder or I’ll forget to come here. Although plenty of sites don’t bother emailing anymore, so I’ve had to get into the habit of remembering those. I’m not in the habit of remember this site yet though.
I also do loads of these competitions and lotteries. That’s why I have a special ‘comps’ folder in my bookmarks and work my way through them daily – I’ve even put them in time order so, for example, free birthdate lottery, being drawn at 11 am, comes about a third of the way down the list.
Oh I never thought of doing that.
Well said Aileen 👍
Thanks, Wendy
I used to do just that when I was entering lots of competitions however I hardly do any comps now. For me, I prefer to receive a daily email reminder as “life” gets in the way of remembering to enter. This is my personal opinion only. Even if you do bookmark the page (which I do have bookmarked incidentally) I forget to check it hence the reason it is good to receive the daily email reminder. I think we post about this because it can be so hit and miss as to if you receive it. Thankfully it has been… Read more »
Grrrr, I never got the daily email yesterday nor on the 2nd Jan so missed these two.
Same here. I’m on Outlook – are you?
No, Gmail. Not in Spam neither as I check that daily.
Try book marking
Same here and I’m also Outlook. Help please Daniel. Actually seems to have come through OK now. Thanks.
Just bookmark the page or use an old link, it will take you to the site anyways.
Just realised at 21.35 that yet again no daily email. That is 3 days now in January. There must be a problem.
I am getting them – just about every other day. Either Daniel/FBL have cut them down to save money (though why we wouldn’t have been told, I don’t know) or – more likely – email hosts are blocking some.
Please help me
With what do you need help?
With what?
?
Well done ahallybone.
Still waiting for a win on here………
Thank you. I’ve just claimed and I’m donating it to the Parrot Zoo Trust
Congrats. Strange that it says ‘not yet claimed’ today (sunday) but maybe it didn’t update yet.
