The 31 Day May Missing Letters Challenge
This month we are having a completely different challenge. Many of you will be familiar with the game show ‘Wheel of fortune’ where you have to guess a word or phrase where some of the letters are missing. That is the basis of this months challenge. Each day in May a different word or phrase will be displayed below. However, it will be missing several letters. You just need to work out what the full word should be and submit your answer. If you manage to guess the correct word/phrase correctly you will receive 2 entries into the draw. If you get it wrong you will receive 1 entry (just for giving it a try). All entries will be pooled at the end of the month and one winner drawn at random.
The competition started on 1st May 2018 and runs until the end of the month. The last one will be shown on 31st May 2018, with the winner being announced here on 1st June 2018 at 11am. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize.
Well done Carole, really enjoyed it, that and the Anagram are definitely my favourites.
Well done Carole
Really enjoyed that challenge!
Well done Carole
Thank you for a great competition Daniel!
Well done Carole!😊
Iv really enjoyed this months challenge…final one done..good luck all 😊
No update for me either on todays quiz.
Apologies for the delay – The update was ‘stuck’. Should be visible now. Good Luck, Daniel
Technology, can’t live with out it now but it does sometime have a paddy! Thanks for the fun Daniel. xx
Hmm…t’other draws have updated but not this yet…..refresh some more….
Apologies for the delay – The update was ‘stuck’. Should be visible now. Good Luck, Daniel
Nicely ironic phrase in the circs, lol
The final one is quite apt!
Final one should be today & I don’t see it yet
Apologies for the delay – The update was ‘stuck’. Should be visible now. Good Luck, Daniel
Got my dates mixed up.
Haven’t been there in years lol
As they say….
You can’t teach an old dog new tricks 🤣 T.x
Great film, looking forward to the follow on, wont be long. 😁👍
Today’s answer though, pft!!!
So far i have only got one wrong…the grandma/grandpa one. All the rest have just somehow appeared in my mind as soon as ive looked at them…i do love me a missing letters quiz 😊 cant wait to see whats in store for next month
I put Band Manager yesterday… 🙁 Can’t believe was 1 letter out… 2 points for initiative..? 😉
IMO you should get both points for that, really – it fits the letters and is also legitimate answer, even if it wasn’t the one the question intended! It’s an automatic process though, so probably not possible now even if Daniel agreed… 😕
I put that too. At least I wasn’t the only one.
Yup
That’s what I put too!!
I wasn’t going to say anything though just in case I was the only one…
Obviously not ☺🤣🤣
I think our answer is way cooler than the correct answer anyway lol
Would be nice to get 2 points though since it is an occupation and it did fit the anagram!
Good luck with the rest of them ☺ T.x
Hazel used always accept answers like this if they were relevant. Same with grandma/grandpa.
I put this as well, glad I’m not the only one!
Haha I did as well! Glad to see so many of us think the same lol
I’m beginning to wonder if I’m the only one who *DID* in fact answer it with ‘bank’..!! 🤣😋
I put “Bank” too. In fact, when I first saw all the comments, my first thought was “What on earth’s a Band Manager?” Sign of age, obviously!!!! Perhaps it’s a generation thing which one you go for???
I got yesterdays eventually, 😂, todays is one of my favourites.
Luck all the way
I wouldn’t mind making the money todays occupation pays! That’s if I got it right of course 🤣 T.x
Not got a clue on todays occupation. 😕
I half expected something like R**A* *ED*I*G yesterday 😉
when I sussed out the 2nd word the 1st came too me straight away, now too see if the suns oot
Today’s took me a LONG time
perhaps I should have read the clue underneath!!!!!!
It’s easy today and I still submitted it spelt wrong lol
I’m actually not sure of todays, I’m going to have a pretty reasonable guess though.
Church b..ls ring out. When you put your lips together and blow!
Its so amazing…the human brain is…so strange how just by seeing a word with missing letters it automatically allows you to see the word in full…its like auto type happens in your brain lol
Tricky one today!
giving up on todays, haven’t a clue 🙂 put in someithinbg anyway as get an entry
Don’t rush take your time & you will get there (maybe first) 😉
Lol, very clever!!
🙂
Took me a while. But I eventually got it. This one was a lot harder I must admit.
Phew that was hard. Wrote something down that fitted, but i had never heard the phrase….then looked at it again and found a better word, so hopefully i’ve got it right.
I SO wanted to put “Chocolate Bike” yesterday but managed to avoid the temptation, lol. No more use than a choccy teapot but bigger so more to eat!
I nearly put grandpa as my son calls one of his grandparents grandpa, but someone put we had this last month so I opted for Grandma
I guessed the right one yesterday but for those who put grandpa instead of grandma, surely you have to give them that one 😉
I put Grandpa, as I had two of these, but no grandmas, as they were both Nannys! As the clue did not specify a sex, both answers are correct, and should count as such. Hope Daniel sees it this way!
Can’t believe I got yesterday’s so wrong, feel an idiot now! Daren’t reveal what I put, hope the wrong answers are never published! I’ll deny it was me!
Surely it could be GRANDPA as well??
I’ve never heard anyone use grandpa in the UK but I see below it’s quite popular in Scotland
I had a grandpa and a grandma, and on the other side a grandad and a granny. It helped distinguish who we were talking about. I’m from a west country background.
I do the same. I have a Gran, Grandma and Nan lol
Thank goodness I got it right!!
I would’ve felt a complete clown if I hadn’t!!
Considering I did say that I was one 🤣😂🤣 T.x
Hoping Grandpa counted too but I did put both 🙂
Found it really difficult and still don’t know if I’ve got the right answer!
I was trying to think of a name for a long time then it dawned on me that I am one of these lol 😉 T.x
Haaa but cud it the other one lol..if the answer is wat im thinking there are 2 genders lol…tricky but u gona go with one so lets see which it is lol good luck tho 😊
First one i’ve got stuck on ….. hmmmm.
Oooh todays is hard. Could be one of two??
Think which one we would use in the UK is probably the answer. I would never use the other one.
Don’t they both originate from the U.K.?
Or have I got it totally wrong?!? T.x
Grandpa is quite popular here in Scotland.
had a whoops when typing today’s answer added an extra letter, oh well I will get 1 entry for trying, lol
Dejavu i remember typing this name in last months quiz.
Hi Natasha. You have a very good memory indeed! Good Luck, Daniel
Thanks daniel. I do love these monthly quizes of yours 😊
Today’s clue isn’t for a film; it was a book first by a long way so perhaps either list both as categories if the same thing happens again in future?!
Fair point but it isn’t actually wrong to say that it was a film so you could say that is all part of the challenge when giving both categories would perhaps make it easier
I agree that putting both would make it easier, but feel that for integrity if they’re going to pick one category it should be the book as that came first! It seems a bit patronising to assume we would only know the movie…
Yes its a book too, but I know it as a very very long film 😁
Also, would like to add. A lot of films, where books first, thats how a lot of films are made, based on the books, and they cut alot out of the films.
this is a good competition every one will enjoy
Definitely know todays answer it was my brothers song when he was captain of Bradford FC just with slightly different lyrics 😉
Great – now those lyrics won’t stop! Lol
Don’t you just love it when that happens! – Good Luck, Daniel
Loving the new competition. Well done Daniel! 😊
Thanks Susan – Glad you are enjoying it. Good Luck, Daniel
Loving this game it’s a little bit more challenging 🤔🤞☺ T.x
Thanks Tracy. That is what I had planned, although some days will be easier than others! Good Luck, Daniel
Great to have a different type of competition, got a feeling this one will be a bit more challenging!
Hi Jo. I wanted a different type of game this month. Something which we haven’t tried before. There has been a lot of positive feedback so far and we are only on the first day of it! It will definitely be a bit more challenging I can promise you that (but some easier ones thrown in too). Good Luck, Daniel
I do like this game Daniel, but was hoping it would be the Anagram game for May, perhaps next time? Pleeeeeease! Got side-tracked, so think I entered my answer twice, so please ignore if I have.
Hi Christine. I wanted to try something completely different this month, although I know a lot of you do like the quiz and anagram games. Maybe next month….. Good Luck, Daniel
Wheel of fortune was ace. A bit like playing hang man as a kid. Great game, im enjoying this already, good choice freebirthdatelottery.
Hi Wendy. Thank you. It is a shame they don’t have new episodes of it in this country any more. Good Luck, Daniel
I really like this one!
Thanks Jackie. 30 more to go this month…. Good Luck, Daniel
Never watched Wheels of fortune, but i think i guessed this one ok.
Hi allicat. Wheel of fortune started in the USA and is still actually running over there to this day. For whatever reason it wasn’t as successful here and the only episodes we get are the repeats from many years ago! Good Luck! Daniel
