May 2022 – Missing Letters – Win £10
Many of you will be familiar with the game show ‘Wheel of fortune’ where you have to guess a word or phrase where some of the letters are missing. That is the basis of this months challenge. Each day in February a different word or phrase will be displayed below. However, it will be missing several letters. You just need to work out what the full word should be and submit your answer. If you manage to guess the correct word/phrase correctly you will receive 2 entries into the draw. If you get it wrong you will receive 1 entry (just for giving it a try). All entries will be pooled at the end of the month and one winner drawn at random.
The competition started on 1st May 2022 and runs until the end of the month. The last question will be shown on 31st May 2022, with the winner being announced here on 1st June 2022. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If you don’t claim your prize before 11am on 2nd June 2022 you will unfortunately lose out. No late claims accepted.

Can we change the theme, please? I have just missed out on the trip of a lifetime due to Covid, and I don’t want to be reminded about what I am missing! I never realised how many TV adverts were holiday and travel orientated until now. Sorry to be miserable; such is life.
Hi Jackie. Think I possibly detect a touch of irony there. Hope you are managing to be reasonably philosophical about it. We were also planning a major trip to celebrate the year of my 70th birthday and our Golden Wedding anniversary but Covid scuppered that too. I was desperately disappointed at the time of my birthday [especially as it fell on a Monday and many of the UK compensatory (special) destinations were closed Mondays] but I’m gradually becoming reconciled. Hope you manage to sort something out, even if it’s a little later than expected 🤞
Hi Aileen, yes, plenty of irony! We were supposed to go in May 2020, for our 35th anniversary, but lockdown happened. We re-booked for 2021, but had to postpone again. Third time lucky, we thought, but no, as I caught Covid shortly before the flight, and there was an end to it. Oh well, quite put me off trying to travel, but give it time, and we will try somewhere closer to home, I think. Hope you manage to find a way to celebrate, regardless!
Hi Jackie, I was supposed to go visit my mother in Belgium in April 2020 but in March 2020 I suddenly had to undergo surgery which saw me stay in hospital for 4 days and unable to move for 8 weeks after. Right after my surgery lockdown happened as well. 2021couldn’t go anywhere because neither me nor my husband had a job and were on UC so no money to even buy a bicycle, let alone travel abroad.
