November 2020 – Lockdown Game – Win £10
Each day this month there will be a question, anagram or some other random teaser to test your brain. If you manage to answer correctly you will receive 2 entries into the draw. If you get the answer wrong you will receive 1 entry (just for giving it a try). All entries will be pooled at the end of the month and one winner drawn at random.
As November is the month of the National Lockdown, I thought I would try something a bit different. Different types of puzzles, games and similar each day. Some will be ones you are used to such as anagram, missing letters, but there might be some new types too.
The competition started on 1st November 2020 and runs until the end of the month. The last game will be shown on 30th November 2020, with the winner being announced here on 1st December 2020. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If you don’t claim your prize before 11am on 2nd December 2020 you will unfortunately lose out. No late claims accepted.
no mistaking that cheeky face!
My thoughts exactly!!
One of those questions that seems so simple, that you start to doubt the obvious answer is actually right… There are two correct answers, but have gone for the more obvious than lesser known.
Clearly, City of Westminster means nothing to the downvoters!
I think I will give today’s question a miss. Whilst it was brilliantly explained by David Tennant when he was the tenth Doctor and I hung on every word, I can’t remember it after about 13 years!
say prime numbers to kids today and they’ll either think amazon prime or optimus prime lol
They have that same smile to this day 😊
Yeah, a Trekkie like me wasn’t going to get that one wrong!
The smile was what immediately gave it away for me too.
Question hasn’t updated from yesterday’s.
Hi Susan. I’m seeing the new one here. Please can you let me know if you are still seeing the old one. Thanks, Daniel.
Yeah it’s changed now thanks.
If you ever go there, take that popular photo of yourself with a tilted hand “holding it up!” You know you want to. 🙂
My husband did something similar when we visited!
duh, don’t know why i thought it was what do all the numbers add upto on a dice, so i was right anyway lol or was I am confused 🙂
ALL the numbers on a die (singular of dice) add up to 21. The numbers on opposite sides add up to 7.
yeah I meant on opposite sides
doh blew it, just realised when i clicked enter
I always thought this was a fruit, you learn something new every day.
Same here!!
If you look it up in Wikipedia it tells you. So basically every pie or crumble you put it in you’re eating veg. Can’t imagine eating custard with veg though!
Me too, after all these years I have been wrong calling it a fruit.
She looks so happy there, such a shame what happened.
A name came into my head so I googled it (I know, cheater!!) and I was right 🙂
Me too
Took a punt today.
A few names jump out to me. So we’ll have to see if my first thought is correct
Not Ruby Wax then 😁 I’d never have thought it was Amy Winehouse until I saw it today and then its so obvious 😃😃
This has driven me mad, I’ve trawled the Internet and only got it this morning at !.20 am. Phew!!!!
really stumped with today’s question, tried looking it up but only got a general description
No idea on this logo??
Are we allowed to give hints?
The colour is the clue!
that still wouldn’t have helped me lol
I’m just curious, has my D.O.B ever been drawn? Yesterday was a 1st of the 1st! I got a little excited:) xx
i put great wall of china as i thought it asked what the landmark was rather than what country is it in.
Yes me too. it definitely said what is it? rather than where is it?
I also put the great wall of china, presumably this will also be accepted
Hi. I’ve just double checked (as you had me question myself). It definitely asked in which country is this landmark. As long your answer includes ‘China’ then that is fine – even if you included extra wording such as ‘great wall of’. Good Luck, Daniel.

Daniel, how did you work out the answer to yesterday’s question? I spent ages on it and could only come up with 62 as an answer.
Starting from +4, you add two onto the amount you add each time – so 2+4 is 6, +6 is 12, +8 is 20, +10 is 30 and so on.
Thank you Daniel, but where did the +4 come from to start with?
If it started at 0, the first +2 would give you the first 2 – then the +4.
I know I’m not the Daniel you asked, but frankly I was chuffed when I worked it out!
You clever clogs. It just frustrated the heck out of me, but at least I now know how to do it for the next time. 🙂
Hi Gillian. It looks like another Daniel has answered your question. If you need any further clarification just let me know. Good Luck, Daniel.
Thank you Daniel, but as you can see above, I am still confused.
Hi Gillian. The sequence shown is: 2, 6, 12, 20, 30, 42, 56, ? – The task is to find out what the missing number is (ie, the question mark) – what comes after 56. The numbers that are there (2, 6) have a difference of 4. The next set of numbers (6,12) have a difference of 6. The next set of numbers (12, 20) have a difference of 8. The next set of numbers (20, 30) have a difference of 10. The next set of numbers (30, 42) have a difference of 12. The next set of numbers (42,… Read more »
Thank you Daniel. That makes it whole lot clearer for me.
Hmm, yesterday’s question is still up. It’s only 11.09 though so I’ll check back later.
So yesterday’s question had two possible answers both of which you accept, when i said Paris for statue of libery which was a perfectly correct answer it wasn’t the answer you wanted. Please use same rules for all your comps
It’s in new York. She was made in Paris and then gifted to America. She has been in newyork for over 100 years
Hi Jan. The fruit has two different names for the same item (Kiwi and Chinese Gooseberry). With regards to the Statue of Liberty the only correct answer for the location is New York City. I explained this when you queried it previously. Kind regards, Daniel.
I know this fruit by 2 names! Put both but assume its the english name you want!?
I’d love to know what the other name is
