September 2023 – Anagram – Win £10

Each day this month a new anagram will be displayed below. If you manage to answer a question correctly you will receive 2 entries into the draw. If you get the question wrong you will receive 1 entry (just for giving it a try). All entries will be pooled at the end of the month and one winner drawn at random.

For those who do not know, an anagram is the result of rearranging the letters of a word or phrase to produce other words, using all the original letters exactly once. For example the letters TEARG could be rearranged to make the word GREAT.

The competition started on 1st September 2023 and runs until the end of the month. The last question will be shown on 30th September 2023, with the winner being announced here on 1st October 2023. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If you don’t claim your prize before 11am on 2nd October 2023 you will unfortunately lose out. No late claims accepted.

It’s not the kind of attraction you think, is it?!
No, it’s not that kind, either!

Some people can be like this though.

Not sure if I got the ‘g’ and the ‘n’ the right way around for the ‘Alcoholic Drink’ answer.

Yep, i agree with you Andrew, especially when it comes to the same person saying the same thing instead of reading previous comments. We all know who im on about, im trying to keep the thread nice 😁, but it is proper annoying.

Tricky one today. 2 answers possible

Stuart

Stuart

Yes I thought that as well!

Hilde

How so? I saw only one. Then after your comment I checked the anagram solver and a whole list appeared but only one fit.

Stuart

Dangers!

Hilde
Member
Hilde

Dangers would not match with the clue though.

Stuart
Member
Stuart

The clue was ‘Nature’ I think. There are many Dangers in Nature, but like everything it is open to interpretation, just like Ganders could have been an answer.

Love it when people vote down, its amuses me. No such thing as open discussion anymore

Hilde

Hilde

Maybe people who vote down do this to indicate they don’t like it either. Like: they don’t like that there were 2 answers possible. Not that they don’t like your comment. Just saying. I only vote down if someone posts something rude. I rarely vote down.

What one? Gardens or ganders?

got yesterdays wrong….. came up with Tourers (as in the vehicles/caravans) so seemed to fit??

STEVEN

STEVEN

What about the A?

Wendy
Member
Wendy

Tourers is only 7 letters, eurostar is 8, although must admit i nearly put tourers 🙂

Hilde
Member
Hilde

The Eurostar anagram would’ve made more sense if the clue had been ‘travel’ instead of ‘transportation’.

tracy
Member
tracy

Eurostar is the name of the train going from Britain to France

Hilde
Member
Hilde

Yes, I know that. But it’s the NAME of the train. For transportation I was thinking about modes of transportation, not names of transportation modes. If the anagram had been for Orient Express would it make more sense to have travel as a clue or transportation?

Hilde
Member
Hilde

For the life of me I can’t see it. I also tried several unscramble and descramble sites but they come up with nothing too. As English is not my first language I guess it’s a word I’ve never learned nor heard of. Just checking if everyone has the same letters on here being UTARSORE ??

It took me a while to get that one. A bit of a clue – it’s a “tradename”, as it were, rather than an ordinary word.

Hi Hilde – try this site – https://anagram-solver.net – this is the one I use when really stuck finding the answer

Hilde
Member
Hilde

Thanks. Too late now as I put something to get 1 entry. But to be honest I never thought about the name of it. Was thinking more as a transport mode like bus or something, not the actual name. Oh well..

I had trouble with this too and English is my only language, I used the site Jane mentioned which gave me the answer. It is still up for today’s question.

It puzzled me too, and I’ve been on it as well!

tracy

it was a very hard one I used an anagram solver which Jane had written the address for in the above comments, it is the best site for these.

GillP

It came to me straightaway too, probably because I have traveled on it several times.

Wendy

Thanks tracy, i got it right after using the anagram web site 👍

Now I am confused! When I checked in the early news the new anagram was showing. Problem is – it still is! So I don’t know if the one showing is yesterdays or today’s.
